CloudCops played a key role in the successful migration and further development of our container platform. The tasks included, in particular:
1. Migration of the Kafka environment from VMs to Kubernetes, including the transition from Kafka Zookeeper to the modern Kraft backend.
2. Replacement of the existing VM-based NGINX setup with the Kubernetes NGINX Ingress Controller; this involved switching from static IP assignments to a modern Kubernetes network design.
3. Complete decommissioning of the Ansible infrastructure as part of the Kubernetes migration.
4. Implementation of centralized secret management via the External Secrets Operator with integration to Azure Key Vault; existing proprietary solutions were removed.
5. Adoption of best practices for Kubernetes in the areas of resource utilization, scheduling, high availability, and node/pod affinities.
6. Significant enhancement of security standards through the integration of Open Policy Agent (Gatekeeper), including the creation and enforcement of constraint templates as well as targeted access control using Entra ID group assignments at the namespace level.
